This position is responsible for providing artistic and technical direction, from concept to final completion on feature VFX and Virtual Reality productions. Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer specific duties include overseeing all VFX specific work, including game planning, creating budgets and schedules with the production team, casting internal talent and interviewing freelance artists for projects when necessary, helping to build and refine our internal pipeline and tools, ensure that projects are being completed to the clients expectations. This position is a client interfacing position and will require previous experience working with studio clientele.
Additional responsibilities include acting as a “hands on” internal expert on software tools and techniques available to our artistic talent and mentoring the creative staff on applying said tools and techniques to achieve results required. This role also has direct input on the application and future development of our pipeline, toolset and the Company’s future development of tool and techniques.

Unifimedia is seeking an accomplished Nuke Compositor to blaze the trail with our team and utilize your expert Nuke skills and creativity to execute photo-realistic compositing for feature films and episodic projects.

A fast paced exciting position, the Massive Artist needs to have exceptional VFX crowd skills as well as strong organizational abilities and a mastery of communication clarity. The Massive Artist will use their expertise in Massive Software to implement the Director's specific vision by working closely with the Crowd Supervisor, Animation Director, Studio Supervisors, Production and Animation teams.

Collaborate and communicate with Supervisors and Producers in order to ensure deadlines are met.
Troubleshoot creative/technical issues as they arise. Provide hands-on assistance to the Animators and lighters.

5+ years hands-on digital production experience.
Possesses a broad creative skill set that encompasses all facets of a VFX crowd production.
Expert understanding of Massive crowd simulation software (Houdini a bonus)
Excellent understanding of rigging, motion capture, animation and in particular their relationship to Crowds.
Strong artistic aptitude for crowds and other types of physically based motion.
Exercise a high level of focus, communication and knowhow in a fast-paced production environment.
Excellent knowledge of Maya.
Strong understanding of Motionbuilder.
Solid Python / C++ experience desired.
Experience building a pipeline a plus.

Leveraging our production workflow, the Senior Animator, working under the direction of the Animation Supervisor, will develop convincing performance and movement for creatures, objects and characters in live action film and television productions. Our Senior Animators are the heavy lifters, mentors, quality insurers, who proactively lead and require minimal direction.
-Work primarily with Animation Supervisor/Leads to create natural, realistic, polished motion using Maya.
-Creatively enhance shots and push all aspects of animation performance.
-Engage with every stage of production including generating original concepts and designs, pre-visualization of complicated sequences and research and development.
-Proactively communicate challenges and troubleshoot solutions.
-Provide input regarding tools and workflows to improve throughput and/or quality.
-Manage time, expectations and resources to meet deadlines.
-Attend dailies, reviews, and team meetings as required.
-Mentor junior animators.
-Minimum 8+ years experience creating convincing performance and motion for live action feature film and/or television series.
-Demonstrated expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production and compositional magic.
-Ability to convincingly animate multiple types of characters and non-characters from simple to complex with a minimum of supervision
-Ability to take direction positively, work well within a diverse group, and thrive under the pressure of tight production deadlines.
-Possess an expert proficiency animating in Maya.
-Possess a working knowledge of Motion Capture and/or Rigging.

From previs to camera extensions, our tracking and layout work on feature film and high concept TV spans the spectrum from design through final camera and layouts.
Leveraging our production workflow and working as or under a Lead, this artist will create, solve or extend camera motion, assist in pre- and post- visualization, and perform complex layout and matchmoving tasks in live action film and high concept television productions.
-Camera tasks - recreating (solving) or creating the movement of a mono or stereo live-action camera in 3D.
-Using lidar or the measurements and pictures of the live-action set, camera information, distortion grids, and scaling reference of characters and objects to recreate a virtual set in 3D (Maya).
-Scene layout in Maya.
-Matchmoving rigid and non-rigid objects on moving elements in the plate.
-Show set-up including removing lens distortion from the plates to aid in the solving of tracks.
-Expert knowledge of 3Dequalizer (knowledge of PFTrack a plus).
-Thorough knowledge and experience with Maya.
-Working knowledge of Nuke.
-On set production experience is desirable.
-Previous stereoscopic film production experience a plus
-Knowledge of a tracking software's scripting language is a plus.
-Meticulous attention to detail with a great eye for camera motion and composition.
-Must work well under pressure for potentially short turnaround deadlines.
-Able to take direction and feedback well from a lead or supervisor.
-A minimum of two years of feature film experience required.

- At least 5 years' experience in the production of high-end 3D VFX
- Good teamwork and excellent communication skills, within the VFX team and with Producers, Director and clients
- Knowledge of advanced 3D modelling, rendering, animation, texturing, lighting, shading, effects and rigging
- Expert level Maya and/or Houdini
- Advanced rendering skills with a clean, modern aesthetics (Arnold/Mantra/V-Ray/Redshift)
- Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical post production environment
- Expertise in general compositing principles (Nuke)
- Strong aesthetic sensibility, good use of colour, clean typography etc
- A knack for visual exploration of abstract concepts

This role tends to vary between projects, as we adapt to the needs of the characters/creatures we create in collaboration with filmmakers.
-Works with supervisors and peers to come up with advanced but technically sound Rigging solutions to enhance character technology and creation processes.
-The role requires strong technical and communication skills, as well as a firm understanding of rigging, software design, graphics, and production work flow.
-Candidates will be required to contribute to rigging, and overall back end, development.
-Create and develop scripts and plugins for the Rigging department.
-Candidates will be required to rig advanced characters in Maya
-Research and develop new deformation approaches, advanced methods to create rigs, and enhance existing Maya toolsets using python and Maya API.
-Work with artists to troubleshoot and fix problems arising in the Technical Director’s area(s) of expertise
-Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
-Proficiency in with Python, C++, Maya API, and creating plugins.
-Strong Math skills, ie: Linear Algebra, thorough understanding of matrices, vectors and transformations in 3D.
-Experience with MEL, Maya Production, Motion builder or Mocap experience is a plus.
-Experience working with Facial Action Coding System based facial rigging system is a plus.
-Minimum of 3 years work experience in visual effects production experienced required.
-Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
-Must have good tools design logic - keeping things as simple as possible while creating complex projects.
-Must be a self-starter with a willingness learn and grow, and take direction well.
-Possess strong time and project management, be a good team player, and have good work ethics.
